Approximately four years ago, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Along with severe morning stiffness, I began experiencing pain and weakness in my hands. Even holding a simple coffee cup became difficult, and there were times when I dropped cups and other everyday items.
I remember thinking, There has to be something comfortable that can help people like me hold a cup more securely. When I couldn't find what I needed, the idea for Get A Grip was born.
That experience led me to think about the many others who face similar challenges because of arthritis, aging, injury, or other mobility conditions. Difficulty gripping everyday objects can affect far more than a single task- it can influence a person's independence, confidence, and willingness to do the things they once took for granted.
I wanted to create something comfortable, practical and easy to use- a product shaped by personal experience and designed to help people feel more secure while enjoying life's simple moments.
Creating Get A Grip has been a journey of imagining, testing, adapting, and trying again. I know the worry of dropping a cup, the frustration of hands that do not always cooperate, and the renewed confidence that can come from finding a simple solution,
For many people, independence is found in everyday moments: holding a coffee cup, enjoying a drink, spending time with family, or completing a task without asking for help. Those moments matter.
My journey with Rheumatoid Arthritis inspired Hands of Hope Living, a vision dedicated to creating practical solutions for people living with gripping and mobility challenges.
I hope Get A Grip helps others feel more secure, independent, and confident- one everyday moment at a time.
